F.A.Q.

Everyone was a first-time visitor at some point, so we understand that it's easier to come to St. Peter's in the Woods when you know what to expect.  Here we've answered some frequently asked questions:

§         What time are Sunday services and when should I arrive?

o        Services are at 8:00am and 10:15 am.  Please plan on arriving about 15 minutes before service.  If you have young children, you may want to arrive a bit earlier for the 10:15 service to get acquainted with the Children's Chapel and Nursery.

§         Where are you located?

o        St. Peter's in the Woods is conveniently located at 5911 Fairview Woods Dr. in Fairfax Station, VA.  Our main entrance is on Route 123/Ox Rd., just south of the Burke Centre Parkway.  For detailed directions, click here.  For first time visitors, feel free to park in our designated "New Visitor" spots.

§         What should I wear?

o        At St. Peter's in the Woods, you will see people of all ages and stages of life. You will see a variety of attire-from blue jeans to coats and ties. We welcome you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

§         What options are available for families with children or what do you have for kids?

o        Children of all ages are welcome to attend Sunday services, but if you would like childcare, there are several options available.

o        On Sunday mornings from 9:15-11:30am, child care is available for babies and young children 0-4years old in our Nursery located on the lower level of the church.  Well-trained staff and volunteers understand that providing a safe, pleasant and clean environment is an all-important step in the spiritual development of children.  Our Nursery workers are CPR certified, undergo background checks, and are approved by our Child Protection Policy.  Our volunteers are church members and parents who have a heart for children. We ask that parents fill out a nursery information card on their first visit and provide a diaper bag for children who are not potty trained.

o        For children ages 5-8, we offer Children's Chapel in room 102 on the lower level. Children's Chapel runs from 10:15-10:50, then children are brought by our staff to the sanctuary to receive communion with their parents, or they can be taken to the Nursery for the remainder of the service.

o        For all services, coloring and activity books are available at the entrance of the sanctuary.

§         What else happens on Sundays?

o        Adult Form is offered every Sunday starting September 13th at 9:15 am in the main sanctuary, with a variety of topics, guest speakers and programs.

o        From mid-September through mid-June, Sunday School classes are offered at 9:15-10:00am for pre-K through 12th grade.  For more information, check out our Youth page.

o        After each service, join us the in lobby for refreshments and coffee and meet some great people.

§         If have a question, who should I ask?

o        If you need information or help finding a classroom, our Ushers and Greeters are available to help.  Just look for their special Usher and Greeter nametags.

o        If you'd like more information on St. Peter's in the Woods, feel free to fill out a Communication Card located in the lobby or from an Usher.  We promise you won't receive junk mail and we will only contact you if you'd like us to do so.
